2018 Honda Pilot Recall InformationAccording to NHTSA recall information, the 2018 Honda Pilot has two recalls affecting two components: the seat and the timing belt. Recall repairs are free at an authorized franchise dealer. A VIN check determines whether a specific vehicle has an open recall and whether the manufacturer remedy has already been completed.
Seat Recall

Certain 2018 Honda Pilot vehicles may have improperly manufactured rivets in the front driver and passenger powered seats. In a crash, the rivets could break and allow a seat to become unsecured from the floor, increasing the risk of occupant injury. Honda's remedy is to replace the driver and front passenger seat slide rail frames at no charge.

Timing Belt Recall

Certain 2018 Honda Pilot vehicles may have timing belt teeth that separate from the belt. This could cause the engine to stall and increase the risk of a crash. Honda's remedy includes inspecting the vehicle and replacing an affected timing belt free of charge. If a replacement is needed, Honda also inspects the engine and replaces damaged components at no charge.

Protect Occupants and Prevent Risk

NHTSA recall information identifies two safety concerns for the 2018 Honda Pilot. Improperly manufactured seat rivets may break during a crash, allowing the front driver or passenger seat to become unsecured from the floor and increasing the risk of injury. Separately, timing belt teeth may separate, which can cause an engine stall and increase the risk of a crash. Waiting can leave an affected vehicle exposed to these risks. Honda specifies free repairs for both campaigns, including seat slide rail frame replacement or timing belt inspection and replacement when required. If the engine is affected by timing belt failure, related damaged components are also addressed at no charge.
